Enable Admin Analytics and New Analytics

Learn how to enable the Canvas New Analytics tool.

Notes: Admin and New Analytics must be enabled at an Admin and course level. These tools are used to show various data points within Canvas. At this time, due to our LTI course delivery, there is limited data that renders as intended. Read the related article, New Analytics Data Tool below to better understand the limitations of each data point within New Analytics.

How to Guide: Enable Admin Analytics

  • Note: Admin Analytics will give administrators a holistic view of an organizational overview, course overview, or student specific data.
  • Select the admin shield icon on the left hand side in global navigation, then select your account.

  • Select settings in the course navigation.

  • Select Feature Options in the top navigation.

  • Navigate to the Account Subheading.
  • Enable the green check under the State column.

  • Note: Course Analytics will also need to be enabled on a course level in settings.
  • Select the admin shield icon on the left hand side in global navigation, then select your account.
