Objective: Learn how to control when course units become available to students using the Lock Until scheduling feature.
Notes: Lock Until is available to Teachers from the Course Settings page in the Player LMS currently only available for pilot users. Locked units honor any sequence control rules already configured for the course. Units unlock automatically at the scheduled date and time - no additional action is needed.
How-To Guide
- Navigate to the course in the Player LMS and select Course Settings.
- Locate the unit you want to schedule and select the edit option for that unit.
- Enable the Lock Until setting by toggling it on.
- Select the date and time when the unit should become available to students. Students will not be able to access any lessons within the unit until this date and time has been reached.
- Save your changes. The unit will now display a lock icon in Course Settings so scheduled content is easy to identify
Once the scheduled date and time arrives, the unit unlocks automatically. Students can also see when a locked unit will become available directly within their learning path so they always know when they can continue.
