Helpful notifications for teachers to use include:
- All Submissions to notify you when assignments are submitted or resubmitted.
- Late Grading to notify you when an assignment is turned in late.
- Discussion Post to notify you when a new discussion post is submitted in a topic you're subscribed to.
- Conversation Message to notify you when you've received a message in your Inbox.
Course Activities
- Due Date - notifies you when an assignment due date changes.
- Grade Policies - notifies you when a course grade policy changes.
- Ex: change in assignment group grade weight or change in gradebook total point method
(percentage versus point value).

- Course Content - notifies you when changes are made to course content, including page, assignment and quiz content.
- If a user changes course content and checks the box to Notify users that this content has changed, users will receive a notification regardless of what they've selected here.
- Files - notifies you when a new file is added to your course.
- If the Files tab is disabled within a course, students will not receive this notification.
- Announcement - notifies you when a new announcement is made in your course or group.
- Announcement Created By You - notifies you when you create a new announcement in a course or group.
- If you allow replies to announcements, a notification will be sent for those replies.
- Grading - notifies you when grade changes are made in your course.
- Ex: entering or changing a submission grade and posting an assignment grade.
- Invitation - notifies you when you're invited to web conferences, collaborations, groups and peer reviews.
- All Submissions - notifies you when assignments (excluding quizzes) are submitted and resubmitted.
- Late Grading - notifies you when an assignment is submitted late.
- Submission Comment - notifies you when a submission comment has been added to an assignment.
- Blueprint Sync - notifies you when content is synced from a blueprint course to associated courses.
- This notification is only enabled for schools using the Blueprint Course feature.
Discussions
- Discussion - notifies you when a new discussion topic is created in your course.
- Discussion Post - notifies you when a new discussion post is made in a discussion you're subscribed to.
Conversations
- Added To Conversation - notifies you when you're added to a conversation in your Inbox.
- Conversation Message - notifies you when you've received a message in your Inbox.
- Conversations Created By Me - notifies you when you created a conversation in your Inbox.
Scheduling
- Student Appointment Signups - notifies you when a student signs up for an appointment in Scheduler.
- Appointment Signups - notifies you when a user is signed up for an appointment by another user.
- Appointment Cancellations - notifies you when appointments are cancelled.
- Appointment Availability - notifies you when there is a change to appointment slots.
- Calendar - notifies you when there are new or changed Calendar events.
Groups
- Membership Update - notifies you when users are added to groups or users enroll in courses.
Alerts
- Administrative Notifications - notifies you when administrative tasks are completed.
- Ex: report is generated, course exported, and new account users are created.
Conferences
- Recording Ready - notifies you when a conference recording is ready to view.
